About Nicola Mayhew, Director & HR Consultant

As a highly experienced and commercially aware HR Consultant, Nicola has provided practical HR advice and support to small and medium sized businesses for over 20 years. This has included start-ups, companies going through organisational growth and change, as well as established businesses with little or no internal HR expertise.   Nicola has worked with companies in a range of sectors including media, technology, pharmaceutical, retail, engineering, professional services, sport, charities and not for profit organisations.

CIPD qualified, Nicola has first-hand experience of HR management and line management so brings a highly practical perspective to the advice and support she provides.

Nicola has successfully supported clients through complex employee relations cases as well as change management programmes including mergers and restructures involving TUPE. She has extensive experience of providing advice to managers on contractual matters, disciplinary and dismissal hearings, absence & performance issues, termination strategies, settlement agreements, grievances, redundancies and reorganisations. She also has substantial experience in successfully recruiting for clients at all levels in particular for HR and finance roles.

Nicola enjoys getting to know her clients and gaining a good understanding of their business so that she can provide the best possible advice tailored to the organisation’s specific needs, culture and circumstances whilst also managing any potential risks and legal requirements. She ensures high standards of technical advice combined with a practical and supportive style and has an excellent track record of building long term relationships.
